I am such a crazy little republican.
When I look back on all of it, I think I have always been a republican. Punk is closer to republican than to democrat. Anarchy is closer to republican than democrat.
There are probably 2 things I disagree with- the death penalty- I think it's more of a deterant to be locked up and miserable than death, and the whole gays can't marry thing. It doesn't bother me any. Get "married" get a "civil union" if you get the same rights under the law anyway what is the difference? The word doesn't mean much to me. In fact I don't understand why people wouldn't support it more, the main problem I hear most people have with the gay thing is promisuity, and marriage implies only with one person- so you'd think they would support it.
I actually like that Bush is for civil unions with equal rights to marriage under the law. I don't understand why he doesn't just leave it at that. The Constitutional Ban on using the word marriage I think he just does that because he has to rely on votes from the ignorant because the people who are in many respects intelligent have accepted so many lies about what the parties are about that they refuse to support Bush- under this bullshit notion that you can't prize your vagina and vote republican. Or that republicans are racists which is the biggest load of crap- or most people believe that women's sufferage and the abolishion of slavery came from democrats- which both is bullshit. The Republican party has been the biggest supporters of humanistic movements and people just believe all the bullshit propaganda...
Thank God I grew up a punk. Thank God I trusted no one and now have my own ideas. And thank God my own ideas are mostly Republican.
